A true rock and roll neighborhood bar, The Earl is adorned with graffiti and garage sale fare. Despite its rough exterior and shady locale, or because of it, this East Atlanta bar is the centrifuge of Atlanta’s indie music scene. The Earl has a great booking agent, and frequently secures the best underground rock talent for their back stage, both national and local.

Another draw is the lack of pretentiousness, yuppies, and overpriced menu. The PBR is dirt cheap, the bartenders are generous and the bar food is delicious. The no-nonsense, comfortable attitude at the Earl attracts a very cool, hard-partying, alternative crowd of rockers, punks and a host of colorful characters. The Earl can get very packed during big shows, so in that case it’s a good idea to order your rounds all at once. You can also head to the outdoor patio to enjoy some fresh if it gets too claustrophobic inside.

The Earl also features specialty days with their own unique draw, such as their delicious Dunch on Sundays. Off their menu you must try their famous shoestring fries, along with a tomatillo-poblano chicken sandwich, bacon cheeseburger, corn dog or chips and queso. Note- You only have to pay cover if you’re attending a show in the back.
